Remote Extensions
| TalkSwitch Remote Extensions allow any remote telephone (corded, cordless, cell phone, pager, or teleworker home phone) to work as an extension of your system. More than just simple call forwarding, TalkSwitch Remote Extensions integrate mobile and teleworkers with call control features such as forwarding, transferring and screening.
|
Introduction
-
TalkSwitch is capable of forwarding calls to up to 8 remote
numbers.
-
Remote Extensions can be any telephone that is outside the
office. Cell phones, a home telephone number, a branch office
number, even a fax machine can all be used as a Remote Extension.
-
TalkSwitch forwards the call to a remote extension by dialing
out on one of your incoming phone lines. Thus any telephone
number can be used as a Remote Extension.
Details
|
TalkSwitch transfers calls to remote extensions with three different methods of line use, depending on the services you have available.
-
Calls can be forwarded to a remote extension on the same line they came in over in conjunction with 3-way calling service from your telephone company.
-
With Centrex Transfer and Clear service, calls can be forwarded to a remote extension with the same line, and that line is then cleared, leaving the remote extension connected directly to the calling party without going through TalkSwitch. In this method, however, the call is no longer available for TalkSwitch call control such as transfers to other extensions or Voicemail boxes.
-
In the absence of additional services, TalkSwitch forwards the call to the remote extension on another line.
